One of the highest selling motorcycles in the commuter segment, Hero Splendor Plus, is now available with a BS6 compliant engine. The BS6 Splendor Plus is powered by a 97.2cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine that delivers 8hp of power and 8Nm of torque.

Stopping power is taken care by 130mm drum brakes at both ends with IBS technology. The motorcycle rides on 18-inch wheels with tubeless tyres.

The BS6 Splendor Plus is available in three variants – kick with alloy wheel, self with alloy wheel and self-alloy wheel with i3S. The price range starts at Rs 59,600 for the kick variant and goes up to Rs 63,100 for the i3S version.

(2) Hero MotoCorp Super Splendor

Ex-showroom Price 72,000 to 76,000 (New Delhi)

Hero MotoCorp’s Super Splendor has undergone a generation leap in the BS6 form. The BS6 Super Splendor is built on an all-new diamond frame and has a change in dimensions too.

The Super Splendor is powered by a 125cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine with XSense technology.

The company claims that the new engine generates 19 percent more power than before. It gives power and torque output of 10.73hp and 10.6Nm, respectively. The 125cc engine comes mated to a 5-speed transmission instead of a 4-speed unit as seen in the BS4 version.

The Super Splendor is available in two variants – drum and disc, which are priced at Rs 67,300 and Rs 70,800, ex-showroom, respectively.

(3) Hero HF Deluxe BS6

Ex-showroom Price 64,000 to 67,000 (New Delhi)

The HF Deluxe is Hero’s most affordable motorcycle which was updated to comply with BS6 norms a few months back. Available in two kick start variants and two self-start models, the prices of the commuter start at Rs 46,800 and go up to Rs 58,000. Although the HF Deluxe is a durable, fuel efficient and maintenance-friendly motorcycle, if you’re looking for its similarly-priced alternatives, here are your options.

(4) Hero MotoCorp Passion Pro

Ex-showroom Price 66,000 to 74,000 (New Delhi)

One of the longest-running names in the commuter motorcycle segment, Hero Passion Pro, has been given a new avatar.

The 2020 Passion Pro has received a major change in mechanicals and design. It is powered by a 110cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that delivers 9.02hp and 9.79Nm.

Also, it gets an all-new diamond frame with a 25mm longer wheelbase and increased suspension travel.

Dimension wise, the bike has a 15mm increased ground clearance – 180mm. In terms of features, the Passion Pro comes with a new headlamp design, tail-lamp, and alloy wheels.

The BS6 Passion Pro is available in two variants – Drum and Disc, which are priced at Rs 64,990 and Rs 67,190 respectively, ex-showroom.

(5) Hero Xtreme 160R

Ex-showroom price of Rs 1,03,500 (New Delhi)

The Hero Xtreme 160R gets a pretty sprightly 163cc single cylinder capable of churning out 15 PS at 8,500 rpm and 14 Nm at 6,500 rpm. This may not be best-in-class figures, but it is a number that changes when you ride.

Transmission is handled by a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox. Suspension comes from a standard telescopic forks up front and a 7-step p reload adjustable mono shock in the rear.
