Although farmers of all classes of the state get good yields of agricultural produce, the quality of produce is adversely affected by unseasonal rains, hurricanes, heavy rains and other factors. Sometimes farmers have to sell their crops at very low prices and sometimes the grain rots. Due to which farmers have to suffer huge losses.
To address this problem of farmers, Gujarat government has started Godown scheme. With the availability of safe crop storage godowns to the farmers, the quality of farm produce will be maintained and they will be able to sell at the right time.
- 30 per cent of the total cost or Rs. 30,000 (thirty thousand) whichever is less.
