The Government of Gujarat has introduced new schemes for the promotion of daughters and for the economic as well as women empowerment of daughters. We know that our country has come up with various schemes to promote daughters as well as women.
Under the Vhali Dikari Yojana, assistance is provided by the Government of Gujarat from the time we send the girl child to the first standard till the age of 18 years and till the daughter gets married.
State government policies, plans, campaigns and programs are formulated for the health, nutrition, education, employment and protection of women in the state. Various schemes like Vidyalakshmi Band, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Saraswati Sadhana Yojana are working for the education of daughters of Gujarat
For the welfare of women, Kasturba Poshan Sahay Yojana, Chiranjeevi Yojana, Betty Wadhao Abhiyan, Sabla Yojana, Kishori Shakti Yojana, while help lines like ‘181 – Abhayam’ and ‘1061’ for protection are reaching the mothers, sisters and daughters of the state. The Gujarat Government is committed to the holistic development of all sections of the society. The government also makes special efforts for the development of the underprivileged, victims, women, farmers and children. ‘Empowered Women for Empowered Gujarat’ has been the mantra of inclusive development of Gujarat. Most of the public welfare schemes of the state government take special care of women.

The government has made tremendous efforts for the empowerment of women in terms of social, economic, educational and security. The result oriented implementation of ‘Wahali Dikari’ scheme will help in preventing female feticide in the state. At the same time, the dropout ratio of daughters in education will be reduced. Child marriage will stop as well as empower women in society as a whole. After Sukanya Yojana, Kanya Kelvani Program, Betty Bachao – Betty Padhao Abhiyan and Nanhi – Pari Yojana, the state government’s ‘Wahali Dikari’ scheme is promoting the upbringing of educated and strong daughters in the state.
Under the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel and Minister for Women and Child Welfare Shri Manipabahen Vakil, the benefits of ‘Wahali Dikri’ scheme are reaching the people of Chhewada. As per the provision of the scheme, assistance will be paid to the beneficiary in future. The scheme designates LIC as the fund management agency. A total of Rs 72 crore has been disbursed as scheme funds.
